I just realized I didn't announce this in-forum yet, so I'll do so now. I've set up a mailing list to be used for announcing test versions of apps. Anyone can sign up and post messages, but the only messages posted should be announcements of new test versions of apps for people to test. It's designed to be a low volume list so it's not too disruptive of people's inboxes. Here's the welcome test with the details:
Welcome to the PortableApps.com Beta list. This list is for sending announcements of new Development Test and Pre-Releases of applications in PortableApps.com Format for the beta team to look over. Please send only one message per release to the list and only include a link to the PortableApps.com Forum topic where you announce the release. All followup messages, bug reports, comments and questions should be addressed to the forum topic and not this list. This is a low traffic, announcement-only mailing list.
You can sign up for the list here:

Only want Pre-Releases?: If you only want to worry about pre-releases, you can just monitor the 'TEST: Pre-Releases' package on SourceForge.net and you'll get an email whenever a file is posted. All PortableApps.com pre-releases will be posted to SourceForge, so you'll always get a ping as soon as the file is posted.

Heh... mailing lists... old school...
How about an RSS feed of e-mails sent to the list?

Because Sourceforge doesn't offer RSS feeds...

Oh right... didn't realize it was an SF link. Well then an RSS feed of any of John's releases. In it's simplest form all such a script would have to do is access the appropriate database and get the last 10 or so topics John has posted in the Beta Testing forum, then format the data appropriately. Not so hard.
What I'm trying to say is, I would really appreciate an RSS feed of official PortableApps beta releases (as opposed to portable apps posted here by other people).

You can get an RSS of all releases by monitoring the Beta Test forums' RSS feed.
You can get an email for just the official releases by monitoring the 'TEST: Pre-Releases' package on SourceForge.net.
But there is no RSS feed just for official pre-releases.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Since Ryan setup a Google Group for the mailgroup, you can get a "real" RSS feed from that. (n1 Ryan!)

We won't be using that group, so the RSS feed is useless. Plus, it wouldn't answer his question of only official releases anyway.
And he can already get an RSS of all releases here in the forums by just monitoring the RSS feed of the beta group.

The Google Group Ryan setup is monitoring the real mailing list, not the alternate one Ryan setup. Therefore, the feeds I linked are both usefull.
Go look for yourself.

Glad we can get this in motion.

Well, signed onto the list.
Good to get this going.
