Mouse Performance...

Can you suggest a way to improve mouse performance in pff? I'm operating pff from a portable USB 2.0 hard drive (seagate 6G pocket drive). The mouse is jerky while web pages actively load but smooths out when completely loaded. I've also noticed occasional lags while typing. Otherwise, pff is working brilliantly. I'm assuming this a data transfer issue. Is this to be expected or can improvements be made? kjp

PFF itself

Most of the pocket drives have pretty slow transfer speeds (slower than flash drives). If you have an unrecommended extension (Session Saver, Tab Browser Extensions, etc) with that that does too many writes, the whole program will be slow.

Thanks John, that's what I

Thanks John, that's what I was afraid of. Can you suggest a portable hard drive with good transfer speed? Kevin

Figured it out...

I found the problems with mouse performance persisted even when I switched to a full size external HD which would tend to rule out transfer speed problems. It turns out my primary issue with poor mouse performance had to do with the theme I was using. When I switched from Metal Lion to Noia the problems went away. Thanks again. k

Flash better than USB?

is that ture, coz i was looking at getting a new usb (nothing slower than a 20X speed), but if flash is better, should i get fast flash SD card and reader instead?

I was looking at getting the Transcend JetFlash 110 2GB Flash Drive, which Tomshardward has recomended. But i've done a bit of searching and found that a 2gb SD + Reader is acutally chapaper. I'm no worried about price, rather performance and portability.

Whats everyones thoughts?

USB key = flash ram

A USB key (aka thumbdrive) uses flash ram. I was saying that many mini hard drive-based devices are slower than many flash ram-based devices.
