Unfortunately, I am unable (or unwilling) to conform to Portable NVU for my coding. My current personal pref is HTMLKit by Chami (www.chami.com), which would be great to have portable, but any other editor suggestions that might be closer to HTMLKit than NVU might be acceptable, too.
TIA
Does anyone have any suggestions as to alternate web editors that are portable. I have already tried NVU and I do not likey. I am open to trying any other apps that you might be using for this purpose (and that are portable). TIA
I have found HAPEdit and PSPad and I think I will try those unless someone has another suggested editor. PSPad looks nice...
I've been absolutely loving PSPad. It has a great FTP feature that lets you remotely edit sites.

I too have been an HTMLKit user, and regret the fact that it is so registry intensive... I have found SciTE which is great for ASP, PHP etc. http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html although it doesn't have an HTML preview so I have to keep a browser open and use refresh. It does code folding, colour coding, and is only 1.3MB in size and all it's configuration is from text files in it's own directory.
Hope this helps.

now portable. Yes it uses the registry, but only uses the HKEY_CURRENT_USER to store its settings. If you choose to add the windows explorer integration, then it also uses HKEY_CLASSES but it cannot be used this way on a portable app. SO I turned it off.
Using my Quickport Template I created Portable HMTL-Kit. However, Due to HTML-Kit's License, I cannot distribute the program itself, So I linked below to the Launcher and the source code for it. What you need to do either, download, install and then copy all files from within the HTML-Kit install directory to the HTML-Kit folder in the PortableHTMLKit directory. Or Copy the files to the folder from your local installation. Also if you have the Kit already installed and are using it. open Regedit, and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Chami and export the key to a reg file called "Settings.reg" and overwrite the one in the settings folder within the PortableHTMLKit directory. The settings that are there are for a default installation, with no windows integration, such as right click menu and such.
