USB firefox

While looking through forums,I read about a problem I also have with my usb protable firefox.I have a developed firefox, bookmarks, plugins, add ons, theme etc.Lot of time. Exit mozilla firefox, remove safely usb. Later plug in usb start mozilla firefox, only to see that nothing remains of my development. Profile setting all erased,or not remembered. FF2.0.1.3,the most recent. I have more than one usb with fire fox,I do not want the up date if this is what is going to happen. There is no stopping the up date.It is automatic, which I think is a mistake. An other problem is fox fon,I paid $5.00,made one call, then I could not access the foxfon again,I would type in the correct pin and pass, and soon as I click enter, the password would double, need I say the password would be wrong every time.I did not get the use of the foxfon nor have I recieve the balance of my money for the service. all in a day, whats next. someone left out the dna for this firefox.

You CAN stop the automatic

You CAN stop the automatic firefox update, and you should NEVER let the automatic update run. It breaks the portable version. The auto-update is a feature of the full install version, and works for that, but with the portable version, if you use the auto-update, it will force your portable version to use the local settings, and force all of the local setup to look for your portable version to be able to run.

As for your issue with foxfon, we have no control over that.

Umm, only the second part is true, and even that's already been reported as a bug on Bugzilla. I've never had an FFP auto-update cause FFP to suddenly use the local copy's settings. Actually, the intention was that you CAN use auto-update with FFP, but after Mozilla changed how the updates work, it stopped working correctly (it modifies the uninstall key in the registry, which it shouldn't be doing when the -profile switch is used).
