sorry, but rainlendar is shareware, (too bad, it looked good). Closed source apps are impossible because of 2 reasons:
1)It's illegal to do it, since the license bans modifiying and redistributing.
2)We don't get free hosting for it.
*Edit* So that's why you pointed to a legacy version. Yeah I might do it
Insert original signature here with Greasemonkey Script.
I have not read the license, but the source code is available.
And he is not requesting Rainlendar (which is already portable) but Rainmeter...
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
Yes the source is listed and RainMETER is freeware. Like I said its basicly a eyecandy type thing but it has some useful meters and having it portable would be somewhat like carying some of your desktop with you.
Just for the record, I just downloaded the Rainmeter source code, and the license file was the GPL.
Unfortunately, the app was abandoned a couple years ago. The weather component no longer works. The interface is a bit clunky when changing settings (understandable given that this is an early pre-1.0 release). And changing things like the news feeds means editing an INI file for the end user... and you can only have 3 feeds.
While this is a nice start to an app, I think it needs a bit more refinement before it's up to snuff. Would be nice if someone could take it over, though. As Patrick said, RainMeter is GPLed. As was RainLender in the earlier release also on this page.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
(John is gonna kill me for this)
What about our own PortableApps.com Rainmeter and Rainlendar? Not the same App, but something like that absolutely PApps.com in the full PApps pack?
At least I'm interested in Rainlendar...
