AFAIK

you can't. These folders are hard coded to point to the Documents/Pictures/Music folders on your USB drive. If you have the menu on your hard drive they are pretty useless as they point to folders you don't need normally because you already have the windows standards.

Maybe there is a mod that lets you change the folders...Use the search box in the upper right corner (search for "PAM Mod") as I don't use the mods and thus cant help you very much.

Documents and Pictures

I have created a Documents folder on the root of my USB drive, into this I have put a short cut for My Documents.
Now I can click on Documents in the menu, an explorer window pops up with my short cut which I can double click on for another pop up explorer window on My Documents.

I have tried creating Pictures and Music folders on my USB drive but the menu does not open them up.

Any help on how to get those working ?

.

Pictures and Music Folders should be inside the Documents folder not in the USB root

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

Welcome and here are some possible ways

Welcome and here are some possible ways:
- create a .bat with notepad with the path to your local documents like
start C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My documents
and put it into your PAM documents folder or/and
- convert the .bat file into an .exe with a bat2exe converter
http://www.abyssmedia.com/quickbfc/index.shtml , put it into a folder under /PortableApps/.. PAM will recognize the .exe, or..
- use ConveyPortable http://www.noir3d.com/portableSuite/ with quicklaunchaddon
within your PAM and you can open your local documents from the quicklaunch tray, or..
- use a mod from this site and rename the path to documents

My strategy is much like

My strategy is much like Pilgrim's, but a bit more direct

If you want the "Documents" icon on the PortableApps menu to take you directly to your documents, on the root of your portable device create a new shortcut. Browse around to find the folder you are looking for (either on your external device or your hard drive), and then name the shortcut as "Documents." Somehow this appears to override the default "Documents" folder on the PortableApps menu and now every time you click the "Documents" icon on the PortableApps menu you will be taken to wherever you set your shortcut. Once you have a working shortcut, I always prefer to set mine to hidden on the properties menu so I don't end up with a bunch of shortcut's cluttering up my USB.

This method works for the "Music" "Pictures" and "Video" icons on the PortableApps menu as well.

The problem

with Windows shortcuts is that they use absolute paths so they only work if you drive letter doesn't change.

I've trying to do this on

I've trying to do this on version 1.6.1.0 but I can't. I've created the "Documents" folder on the root of my flash device, and created a "Documents" shortcut to My Documents folder on my C: drive, and it works ok. But if I point the shortcut to any other folder, it doesn't work at all.

Is this the intended behavior? I have PortableApps suite installed on a read-only partition on my flash drive, and I'm trying to point the "Documents" folder to the read-write partition on the same drive.

Any ideas??

Thx!
