Just wanted to provide folks with a quick status update on the site. As some may have noticed, the site was down for a short time here and there yesterday and had a couple of periods of unresponsiveness today. The reason is that I was upgrading Drupal -- the content management system that everything you see here runs on -- to version 4.7. It took about 1/2 a day yesterday and then about 1/2 the day today to get everything running correctly (including having to manually kill off the whole search index and recreate the tables, manually hack a couple extensions, re-do sections of the site theme, etc)
The upgrade is complete except for a couple minor visual issues that are still being completed. But, other than that, the site is now upgraded and stable. 4.7 will result in a few improvements for both registered users and guests, too, including better performance, even better performance for guests, improved site-wide search (including new advanced search features), etc. Another plus is that some new modules to add functionality will be added in over the next couple weeks... including built-in WYSIWYG text editing for developers on their project pages and some download-related stuff. I'll post more on both when I have some more time to work on the updates.
Just thought everybody might like to know.
Regards,
John
Nice work!

Hmmm, maybe I should upgrade to 4.7 on my site. How is module support holding up in 4.7? I know a bunch of modules I've looked at haven't had 4.7 support.... Nicely done, John, keep up the great work.

What Drupal theme did you use or start with?
It's an entirely original theme I created and had a friend help with the graphics for. If we ever get some free time, we plan on releasing a version with multiple color schemes and styles under the GPL back to Drupal.org.
