How uninstall an application in Portable APPS ?...

Hello,
I am new in this site and this forum. I must specify that I am
enough beginner as regards data processing and that my English is very
limited what does not facilitate the comprehension of the FAQ. to me I
hope that you could be tolerant with me. Initially I would like only
to know how uninstall an application in Portable APPS?... Is it
simply necessary to select all the files of the application and to
remove them? Or well Portable APPS has in its menu a means to remove
one of the applications? Thank you to inform me, cordially with all.

It is manual at the moment

but very simple.

Each application lives in its own folder under \PortableApps\ on your flash drive. To remove one, simply close the menu (exit, not minimise) and then delete the folder from windows explorer.

Next time you restart the menu, the app will be gone.

Welcome to PortableApps.com Smile

How uninstall an application in Portable APPS ?...

Hello Jimbo,

Thank you very much, indeed it is really very simple. Although I thought that it was
necessary to act as you explain it, I wanted to have the certainty of
it before being likely to make a bad handling. Still large a mercy to
have answered me also quickly it is really very pleasant of your
share. Taking into account my data-processing mediocrity, it will
undoubtedly not be the last time where I am likely to call upon your
knowledge. Very cordially on behalf of " Small French " who I am.

No problem

It's no problem. It always is ok to help a new user. However, there is one thing that you should know about. Before you ask something, look it up in the all powerful "search box" in the upper right corner.

Thanks for posting

hmmmm I noticed that the power "search" box didn't help you to post any links to posts that may have helped.

Of course as the OP said my English is very limited what does not facilitate the comprehension of the FAQ so reading other posted answers probably won't help.

OK

Sorry. I was just pointing that out, as some people can get really annoyed when something has already been answered before.

I have a problem. I use

I have a problem. I use akelpad portable only (not with PortableApp platform). After I have installed a new version, when I start it from win7's toolbar the software works with old settings, while when I start it directly clicking on akelpad.exe the software works with new settings.
I tried deleting the entire folder, removing the link from win7's toolbar and cleaning the registry with ccleaner, but when I install the software again I have the same problem.

That is how all PortableApps

That is how all PortableApps work (well, the ones that actually have settings and data that need to portabilized).

If you start them from the executable in <install directory>\App\<app name> you are running the base app and bypassing everything portable about it, and the app will use the registry and/or local filesystem to store its settings.

You should only ever run the app from <install directory>\<AppName>Portable.exe, which obviously must be the executable you pinned to the Windows taskbar since it is starting the way it should.
