Miranda IM Portable 0.7.4 has been released. Miranda IM is a multi protocol instant messenger client for Windows which uses very little memory and supports ICQ, AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, IRC and more. Miranda IM Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. i dont like
how it says It supports ICQ, AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, IRC and more" more as in what? the website is rather unhelpful as well on this unless you dig for a bit, same with pidgin, i would just like a simple list of what it does support before i download, having dial up, downloading something and deleting it because it isnt what you wanted is a major waste of time, but anywho, i really do love this site, it is very helpful to me, and just trying to give some constructive criticism, hope i wasnt too harsh

Pidgin goes straight up and says exactly what it says on its home page. And you're right, Mirandas about page does say 'And more...', but the protocols beyond that list are hardly used, but if you do look at the Wikipedia list, you'll see it's much too much to list in a release article.
The reason it says "more" is
The reason it says "more" is because it's open to people making plugins for the program to support other protocals. The protocal's listed are the ones it supports nativaly. The "and more" are for all the other protocals that other people have made for the program. It would be impossible for them to keep up with them all.
I personally hate this portable version because it makes all sorts of directories and files in the root of my thumb drive. VERY annoying. I just downloaded the actual miranda client and use it.
It
should all be contained in the folder that you put it in, not spreading itself everywhere, could you please post a new topic in the support forums detailing the path you tried to install it to and where these extra directories were created.
