because John is too busy to work on the Specs, and my specs are unofficial.
Anyway, the first thing to do is to find how to put all the settings in a folder, if it stores in the registry you'll have to export.
Maybe check out cubegames.net/development for more details.

Thanks for the answer... but I still dosn´t get the picture. Perhaps I should rephrase.![Smile](https://portableapps.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)
Is it possible to create som kind of wrapper around a closed souce product - so it can be virtualised using Portableapps? If so .. where can I seek information on how to do it?
.. or ..
Does Portableapps require alteration of sourcecodes - for making products portable?
Mayby it´s just me who cannot find the main readme .. but please help me put on this one anyway.![Smile](https://portableapps.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)
Regards Stickybit .. who works fulltime with building MSI installers.
With the possible exception with QEMU (It had closed source stuff in it), we don't alter the source code of the original app. We don't virtualize, we basically automate the process of backing up, moving files, importing to the registry, etc. etc.
John still didn't publish it.
Yes, there are some wrappers in the beta forum, marked as launcher only. After all, it's illegal to alter it and redistribute, so that the user will have to take matters into their own hands... Anyways, basically everyone here either used the Portable App Creator (that makes autoit launchers for you), or followed one of the official apps.
Depending on where the base app leaves it's settings, you'll want to take examples from different launchers. For a file left behind in the same directory as the program, use SumatraPDF. For a registry key left behind, use 7zip. For a 100% standalone app, use WinMD5Sum. For anything else, take any of 'em and I'll fix it up for you ;).
There is no main readme...
Say, how do you make MSI installers? Using a script?

I´m testing Portable App Creator this moment.. but what is "the official apps"?
I create MSI installers using scripts with WIX, or build them using Wise Package Studio.

Didn't you already make a post asking this, and get like 5+ responses?
No. The post above was my first.
.. and even if I did ask this question before - then what kind of valueable information did you reply add to the conversation?
I just thought I had seen 'Stickybit' post the night before, maybe not.
It didn't add any 'valuable' information, I was just wondering as there would have been no point in having two posts if that was the case.
