Backup

Hi all,

Previously, I had a post regarding my Firefox getting really slow and pages take ages to load, and in a lot of cases, don't load in the 1st place...

What I want to do is run a new Portable Firefox, but want to backup my information from this current one...
How can I backup the following:
- visited websites
- saved usernames/passwords
- installed extensions (instead of having to reinstall all of them again)

For Bookmarks, as far as I recall, its from "Organize Bookmarks", then Export or Import...

How can I backup/Restore the above mentioned data in Firefox?

Thank you in advance,
anacondasnake

Could be difficult

- visited websites

history.dat

- saved usernames/passwords

signons2.txt

- installed extensions

The extensions/Add-Ons might be harder
They are stored in the "extensions" subfolder of the profile,
but as many of their settings are stored in:

prefs.js
You would need to copy that as well.

And I know I have a couple that have their own subfolder in the profile itself.

At that point you could have copied over so much of the old installation that you might still have the problems you had before, depending of course on what the cause was.

If the problem was in an Add-On/extension or a user preference you would be back were you started.

I know you don't want to but it might be best to reinstall the Add-On from scratch [saving the questionable ones till last, e.g. Tab Mix Plus]

Sad,
Tim

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
