I just found out about a new Bit-Torrent program called Torrent Swapper. It's pretty much becoming the most popular Bit-Torrent program online & since it's open-source (as it's hosted on Source Forge), it would be an EXCELLENT CANDIDATE for becoming a portable app.
You can look at Torrent Swapper at http://bit-torrent.sourceforge.net
This would be a better alternative that uTorrent, IMO since it can be legally made into a Portable App program.
I would think the most popular is Azureous. Torrent Swapper isn't even on the most downloaded list ;). Say, what does a bit torrent client do?

No one's doing it yet ok. I think i will have a try. 129,229 on SourceForge.net but 3,893,033 on Download.com ( my trusted software provider)
Never curse the alligator till you done cross the bridge.
From the features-list :
"Doubling the download speed by using the upload
capacity of friends"
That is absolute nonsense .
Besides, they have a long rant on how .torrents are mostly used for "illegal" blablabla ....
If only I could figure out how to stop azureus from using
absolute paths ..
The feature list maybe nonsense but it is nonsense that 3,893,033 + 129,229 ppl chose to believe. There for making it a smash hit even tho it might be crap. Nevertheless Its worth doing from my point.

"Using our software increases your tracability. Every Torrent Swapper client installation has a unique identifier based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography, which helps the software to keep track of friend and foe. In the past, we have conducted the largest crawl of the Bittorrent P2P system. We will also be crawling the network in order to detect any inefficiencies and shortcomings in our P2P software. However, this will also show us how the software is used, including the occurrence of illegal activities."

Anyway, latest version is 1.0, released 2006-08-10

Maybe so like i said. and that last line sounds like it does the opposite to PG2. kinder invading privacy don't u think. (However, this will also show us how the software is used, including the occurrence of illegal activities.)
Nevertheless Portable it is.

Has anyone tried Frostwire for torrents? It says it supports them, but I've not had occasion to try it.

I have used frostwire before to download torrents, but its kinda slow unless you change settings to your router. But its ok I guess, but I use Azureus because it is fast and has great addons like safepeer.

i won't use Azureus until they improve the ability to download individual files in a torrent. when i do it, it creates all the other files as 0 byte files instead of not creating them. until they fix that, i stick to utorrent with PeerGuardian in the background. does anyone know if Torrent Swapper has better functionality for this than azureus?
