Sorry

for the late reply, I completely missed this one. I am not sure what you mean however, are you refering to updating more than one backup file at once?

Toucan

I have been using Toucan to "equalize" two folders, one on my local machine one on a network storage device.

I run the equalization several times per day.

I also use PStart. What I would like someone to show me how to do:

Utilizing the command line parameters in PStart so that on "click" Toucan launches and automaticly runs my saved "job"

I know the jobs.ini is in the data folder, but how can I feed that to Toucan on launch rather than the additional keystrokes to get there?

If any one can, please let me know! Thanks!

BTW PortableApps rock!

How to:

Ok, so i banged away at this and had an epiphany: so here is how it worked:

In Pstart I created added a File call Sync Book.
The exe that it runs is the "Process.exe" (I do not remember where I got this exe)

In the "Command line parameters" field I entered: jobs.ini
In the "Home directory" field I entered: my_apps\Toucan\Data

Since in PStart it can be configured to run this on click, or on PStart startup, shutdown, or scheduled it is really a wonderful tool.

Side note, I had used the Process.exe with -k IEXPLORE.exe in the "Command line parameters" to close all of my open internet windows on shutdown.
-and before anyone says it, I can't run Firefox, even portable, because our work network blocks something in it, we are restricted to IE use... for security reasons lol!

Anyway, although no one was able to beat me to finding my own answer, perhaps my post here can help someone else.

Glad

to hear that you got it sorted, if you pass a job name as the command line parameter you should find that Toucan doesn't run the GUI and simply runs the job in a command line, which might be what you need Smile

!@#$%

Ok, so I overzealously reported that I managed to make it work, however, I misrepresented myself. I was not succesful at my little venture. So back to the beginning. Any PStart users out there that might be able to help me get PStart to run a specific Toucan job each time it starts/ shuts down etc... Thanks!!!
