There may be, but not until

There may be, but not until they compile the latest set of updates for Windows.

Buggy / Behind

Last I checked Gnumeric on Windows was buggy and it lagged behind the Linux version in terms of the binaries made available.

Non complex use

My usage of Gnumeric is not overly complex. it is just very handy to have a light weight spreadsheet app. on my jump drive to work with when travelling. i am installing Open Office at the moment and so far it has taken 2 hours ! so not sure how well it will run !

The linux version is up to

The linux version is up to 1.8.2, and the windows stable version is 1.6.3 Build 2, so it's quite outdated. It would be great if somebody could compile the updated GNOME Office tools for Windows, It would be a nice alternative to OpenOffice.org for people that are short on free space, or don't need a full office suite.

Gnumeric

I used to release the portable versions here in the forums. Although Gnumeric has some good points the bad stopped me continuing with it. The print one was one that always got buzzed around the forums and my inbox.

Here is an old link with very old launcher script: https://portableapps.com/node/3956

I don't have access to the server at present, where they are held, but I believe everything is still active.

Gnumeric

Many thanks for the link.

I will try it out. I would much prefer to use abiword and gnumeric .. the load times for openoffice from a usb key are pretty slow.

I appreciate it.

Win32 builds.

There's a few experimental 1.9.0 builds here.

A spreadsheet expert with time on his/her hands could take a look.

Have to check

Not sure as I have not been on Gnumeric since around Christmas but I believe that 1.8 is the current stable release branch and 1.9 is the current development release branch. As yet they have to release a windows version of the latest stable branch.
