commd so you do not have to pull a drive in an out ?

hi all im new to the group
i love portableapps i using windows xp sp2
i have one question I after you use the winds thing to stop the dirve
is there a command you can use so windows rscan an picks up the dive so you dont have to pulll it in an outpto get it picked up again thanks beau

someone poste link to small command line tool to unplug USB devices
however it will not work until USB is busy.

but just search for it

I think he was asking for

a program that, after you have run Safely Remove Hardware on the drive, will remount the drive as if you had pulled it out and plugged it back in again. When I asked this question the reply I got was that there was no programatic way to do this. I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

I was asking

if there was a program that you can use so the pc will pick up the drive with out the need to take te drive in an out of the usb port

Situations:

Testing autostart function,
saving Battery power on a laptop,
ejecting by mistake,
Save HDD-life by turning it off and on,
...

All without plugging it off and on (crawling behind the desk, wearing out the USB connectors mechanically, ...)
