Encrypt / Decrypt PA

This thought just came up while I was trying out Alpha 2.

Would it be possible to add a button that would Encypt or Decrypt the Portable APPS or better the entire USB. This would solve a problem that some people are having by not being able to do so now.

The idea would be to encrypt the entire USB with the exception of TUCAN and the Portable Apps Menue. Then a person could open PAM as usual. Then only see Tucan in the menue until TUCAN is used to decrypt the USB and PAM restarted.

The only thing unencrypted would be the decryption program, TUCAN, and PAM.

Hope this made sense.

than a button for this I might make a set of jobs that could be used for common tasks like this and include them by default, what do people think?

I Like It

Hello Steve;

I like the idea very much.

Can I modify my my suggestion a little. If you do add built in jobs or taskes. Please consider something called for lack of anything better "Secure USB". Have it encrypt / decrypt the entire USB with the exception of "Tucan and Pam". I do have other items on my USB that do not fall in to the PortableApps directory. It would be nice to do the entire drive for that reason. I have a directory I call NonPortableApps. I place every thing I use that does not come from this site and does not contain a single exe file in to this directory in their own sub directory. They work portably but are not in the same structure as these Apps are in.
