Mixxx is an open source DJ tool designed for those people who are noobies to DJing and for those who are professional. 
i would like to use this at my friends house. he cant install anything over there..............

ive been using it for a year now. its a good piece of software. and i love it.

Most people usually suggest a type of app, a closed source app,an app nobody wants, or an app thats already being made portable. You seem to have hit the jackpot though. I've always wanted an audio program stronger than audacity. It's good, but you cant do enough with it.

If Audacity 1.3.4 ever makes it out of beta, it will be a much better application. They have added a lot of functionality, and cleaned some things up with it.

Firefox is a lot more popular than Audacity. John only packages the beta releases of the Mozilla Apps. Doing every beta release of every app would take way too much time.

It's more a matter of popularity (Firefox is our most popular app) and the ability to play with it side by side as running a Firefox 3 Beta on your PC uses your Firefox 2 profile (unless you manually do a shortcut... and even then it can cause other problems), which can cause issues.

I have been using it last night.
it's kinder hard to scratch with but i guess i am too used to VirtualDJ.
By the way i have it portable already just need to fix some problems with how it handles it's settings.

i have it portable but having some problems with where it saves it settings. Its a very weird place it saves it, so it should be out soon.

It may not be perfect, but it works alright for me.
Extract it to wherever you want it and run "Mixxx Portable.exe"
I'll use this one till the other is out. (Downloading the full version on dial up is alot harder than a portable version)

Well i just finished. Im gonna test, I know you guys already posted a copy, jsut wanted to what other people think. I used PAC to make mine. THis will be my first app. Well i got it to work on my Laptop (Vista Home Prem). Here is the link, tell me if you find any problems. But u must copy the Mixx directory into the Mixx folder that is in the zip.

New to Making Portable apps, but not to portable apps
Since people have now made their portable versions, I beleive they can put the beta splash screen on and stick them into beta testing.

U know there is already an release in the beta testing forums. There is no more need to post ur own versions. It's not like no one is working on it. If however u want to take over the project then all you can do is ask.
