Chances are somebody already answered this, but how do I check if any files are left behind by an application?

what we use around here is RegShot, there's even a development RegShot Portable. You tell which folders to check, for devs, usually the User Profile Folder, the Shared Docs folder, and the folder the app is installed in (to check if an INI file is made).
That's also what the PAC uses.

i don't like Regshot. it only shows changes in your registry, not what the program tries to create or which program creates what. What I use is RegMon; simply change the filter to filter out everything besides "Writes" and "Successes" clear the list for a fresh start, then right click and exclude every process you don't care about watching. after you have all the normal processes excluded it shows you all registry activity by whatever program you're running when the keys exist on your pc or not. the same can be done with filemon. vista users can't use these programs, but they can use process monitor; i should be using that too because it combines regmon and filemon into one but i haven't messed with it to set it up correctly for what we want.
too complicated.
The one that does both is called ProcMon.

RegShot can show directory changes too, unless you updated to the no longer supported 2.0 branch. If you download the version on SF, it can monitor dirs as well.

I tried to use it, but the regestry entries made no sence, and I also think it regestered me extending (modyfying) My SM64 Rom file.

Since I cant tell if it leaves regestry, can somebody check to see if they leave regestry? http://homepage.mac.com/qubedstudios/ToadsTool64.htm http://homepage.mac.com/qubedstudios/Mario64Tools.htm
and if so, could somebody portify it for me? It is fan made, so it doesn't have any liscensing.
