Hello all,
I checked the previous posts, but didn't find anything matching my request. If it is a repost pardon me!
I'm using standard TB app at the office to read my mail. My private mail I read with the PORTABLE TB (off course!) - and I faced the problem, that I am not able to have two instances of TB running. So every time I have to shutdown on TB to check the other. Is there a way to have 2 TBs running?
Thanks
Samuel
Somewhere into PortableTB's folder you'll find a file called "PortableThunderbird.ini".
Move it in the same directory with "PortableThunderbird.exe" and change the setting: "AllowMultipleInstances", from "false" to "true".
That's all!
Hi Gabriele,
could it be that it just works if you want to run 2 instances of PORTABLE TB and not (like I do) PORTABELE TB and regular TB?
I couldn't find any *.ini in REGULAR TB where to put "AllowMultipleInstances" from "false" to "true"...
Or is it enough to just mofify the PORTABLE TB ini file?
Thanks
Samuel
There's an example INI within PortableThunderbird\Other\PortableThunderbirdSource. Copy that to the PortableThunderbird directory (next to PortableThunderbird.exe) and then set AllowMultipleInstances=true. Just launch your local copy first and then Portable Thunderbird and both will work side by side.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Hi all,
just stumbled across the solution by myself :o)
Pls check this nice and useful tool called "FFlauncher"

Works very well within my scenario!
Thanks Nanaki!!
