Slow navigation?

I've just reinstalled Portable Fx for work purposes; I do work both in the office and at home, and it would be useful to be able to keep my settings with me.

I seem to be experiencing lagginess when switching between tabs and such. I've not experienced this with older versions I tried out. I'm thinking that maybe the ports on my machine are USB 1.1, and I think I've been using 2.0 before. This could be causing an issue, I suppose, but does anyone have any possible fixes for this? I'm using Portable Fx v1.5.0.3

Cheers!

Ports or Extensions

If you're using any extensions that save 'sessions' or feature 'crash recovery', those will cause PFF to run quite slow on flash devices.

Otherwise, it could be your ports. PFF works on USB 1.1, but it's slow.

Aah, I am running Tabmix

Aah, I am running Tabmix Plus, which has a session saver. I do use this feature a lot though, so.. crap Smile

Mentioned before

It's been mentioned a couple times in the forums here. Any extension that 'saves sessions' or has 'crash recovery' writes to the drive every single time you load a page, navigate forward or back, switch tabs, etc. Writes slow down everything from flash ram. So, using one of these extensions will slow down your whole portable app experience.

Cheers.

Disabled the Crash Recovery and all is good. I'll just have to manually save sessions in future Smile

Same experience.

I had the same experience.

I use tab mix plus, but had to disable crash recovery. Load time is still slower than I want, but that may change with a new UFD I am getting.
