OK ...how to disable that notorious splash screen? I won't even look at this (or any other) program as long their splash screens can't be disabled. Sorry, but I'm one of those that are allergic to splash screens.

It's easy to disable.

Copy the [AppName]Portable.ini file out of the /Other/source directory and into the [AppName]Portable base directory, then edit the file (do not delete any lines) and change "DisableSplashScreen=false" to "DisableSplashScreen=true"

Nope. Not this time. I've managed to disable any splash screen so far (except Gimp's, which I don't use anymore, for some unknown reason ;-)), but not this one.

Odd....this should function the same for all apps. The reason GIMP's can't be disabled is because that splash screen is part of GIMP itself, not part of the launcher. GIMP is a large program and takes quite a while to load.

Edit: I found the issue. It's a bug in the launcher source.

APPNAME is defined as Task Coach, it should be TaskCoach (no space), because the launcher tries to read ${APPNAME}Directory from the ini. With a space in the name, it can't read correctly, so it will always error out.

Actually these comments should not be in a news release but in the support forums.
