Are these portable?

I know that there are a few in the list but I am unable to install each one separately and use RegShot to check if they are portable. Does anyone know if these are portable? They are all Open Source Freeware games. I have provided links to their respective page on Wikipedia. You can find a link to the homepage of each program on the Wiki page.

I don't think...

any of them are portable... but can be portabilized... Wink

For more portable games than those already in our forums, check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_portable_computer_games and here: http://www.portablefreeware.com

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

I got those from a list on

I got those from a list on Wikipedia. I did a search for each one before I listed it and none of them came up with any results as being discussed or requested in the PortableApps Forum.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with Windows.

Make a personal copy

Make a personal copy using PAC (Here is the Link: https://portableapps.com/node/9909). I've made a few personal apps, that are not portable but can be portable. If PAC doesn't work you can try jauntePE. THere is no new update because the author has left due some issues (mod delete a post he made). But if you want it pm me and ill link a download for it.

Well,

I WOULD use it, but It needs to be run on a clean PC, which I do not have. Plus, my PC stinks. I just reinstalled windows, and I still can't run the Updater, Toad's Tool, some CD games, Plug my flashdrive in the 2.0 port and be able to se my files, and more. I can do most of these things on the school PC.

THere is sandboxie, and

There is sandboxie, Virtual Box, and more that you can make a clean XP or whatever. Then u can use PAC and so on. And for jauntepe you don't need a clean. Just run the auto wizard, but make sure that the app folder is in the portable drive.

Actually,

There is no licence on TT64, as it is mainly fan made. I could ask the author if it's open source, but he'd definastly say its ok to modyfy it.

Actually,

he's just on a different site now. The last blog entry stated where he was. Although VL has been buisy, he's not dead. Although the new work has been mostly made by others, (who are on the forum, and have made tremendous breakthroughs) VL-Tone has been checking in every now and then to guide them in the right direction at first, and later commenting on their work. I'd post a link, but that would be promoting. He also has a youtube account. http://www.youtube.com/user/Starxxon I could probably contact him for the liscence. I'll actually do that right now.

VL-Tone's responce.

I PMed VL-tone about regestry and liscensing, and this is what he said.

Well TT64 leaves an harmless preference file, but that's it.

It's not open source, I already explained why, and it's not because I'm against open-sourcing.

Does anybody know where I can find this registry and delete it so I can use PAC on it.

Edit: I notice if I hit "enter" on a cited phrase, I have to reinserty the "cite" tag

Well,

Well, u can just use PAC straight off the flash-drive. I was just saying that u can use JauntePe if you want, but i prefer PAC because it is easy.

I know, but

Yeah, but it must be run on a clean PC, so I need to delete the settings file before I run PAC.

Well, not really

Well, not really unless you have already isnstalled it, which u would need a app that uninstalls and clean the reg for you. (GOogle it but I dont kno if they are good). But another option could be to use VMWare (or something like it) and install Windows. Then just plug in your flash-drive, and make it so the the virulatized Windows can open it, and then just run PAC in there. That is what i did for a few Apps.

Too complicated

All I want to know is where Toad's Tool keeps it's settings file. It does not use an installer, it is a zip file. Is this too much to ask?

if u wanna know where it

if u wanna know where it keeps the settings, just search for it. look in the typical places like %APPDATA% and the registry, and in the ToadsTool directory

No,

I already know it is stored on the PC, VL-Tone told me that. I would like to know where it is specifically stored. I do not know where %APPDATA% is.

Obviously the settings are

Obviously the settings are stored somewhere on the PC, searching will tell you where.

%APPDATA% is typically C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\

FOUND IT!

I found the file.

...Application Data\Macromedia\Director MX 2004\Toad's Tool 64 v0.5.98b\Prefs\tt64_prefs.txt

Thank you. Now that the file is gone, I can finally portify it.
