You're more than welcome to start working on it. It's not really that lightweight. It's 14MB compared to Thunderbird's 25MB. (Though I can compress it down to 6MB, which we can't do to TB due to licensing/auto-update.) And it's GTK-based, which means it's slower and more annoying to make portable than native Windows apps.
Plus, the Windows version has no IMAP support, which is the *BEST* way to handle mail portably.

Im already working on Claws-Mail Portable first beta should be ready soon, IMAP support shouldent be too hard to add nither since im recompiling everything
