VLC: recommendation for portable player than can handle .flv files?

Hi,
Anyone used a player that can handle these weird .flv files? The older version of vlc could play the audio portion, but not the video. This latest version can't do v or a.

Thanks, Fletch

found it!

Media player classic will play these files just fine. Not listed as a portable app but it does work, at least the newer versions will.
apparently there are more than 1 type of flv file and vlc only does the older version.

Media Player Classic

is just a shell for Windows Media Player.

VLC 0.8.4 will play them

VLC 0.8.4 plays audio and video from these for me, the reason I went back to it after trying 0.8.5.

Use the .zip version of VLC instead of the installer and it will work fine in Portable VLC.

...

Exactly. So as long as the WMP codec is installed on your computer, then MPC will play it. Otherwise--no. This is why MPC isn't truly portable.
