It may be back up, but it's still slow as anything. Half of the mirrors don't even work right now (they time out). Which isn't really any different than normal, but it's a whole lot more annoying now, because when their full-page ads come up, there's no way to select a different mirror.

Yeah, SourceForge isn't as

Yeah, SourceForge isn't as good as it used to be.

But there’s no sense crying over every mistake,
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I think

there is a link at the top of that page to skip the ad so you get back to the standard page where you can switch the mirror.

I've been looking forever for a "skip this ad" link (I'm used to clicking them so it's not a foreign concept to me), but I could never find one.

Nope, just a "click here to download this manually" link, which downloads it from the mirror that SF auto-selected. But if that mirror is down, you're out of luck. Usually I just keep hitting Back and click the download link again until I get the mirror selection page (which can take 5+ tries).

Sourceforge down again ????

Since more than a week I cannot access Sourceforge.net, it shows only a white page. So I cannot download any portable apps.
Has anybody else the same problem ?

Working for me

I downloaded some apps yesterday. Have you tried a different mirror?

Should be right on the SourceForge page

Hold up a second, you can't get to SourceForge.net at all? That's a problem! But for you, not SourceForge, it's definitely working. Have you installed any ad-blockers or that type of software lately? Are you downloading from a new location?

In the normal way of things if you try to download software from SF.net you'll get a page that says something like:

SourceForge Download
Your PortableApps.com: Portable Software/USB download will start shortly…
Problems with the download? Please use this direct link or try another mirror.

Clicking on "mirror" should then let you choose a different location to download from. Mine is set to "auto select" for what it's worth.

Not for me

It doesn´t matter, whether I try to access Sourceforge.net with my old PC (Win XP SP1, IE6, Firefox with AdBlock plus deactivated) or my Laptop (Win7 Home premium, IE8, FF with AdBlock plus deactivated), I get a white screen or I am redirected to Bing or get a TimeOut-Message. I also switched off ZoneAlarm and Antivir.
Using http://network-tools.com I can ping it (average Time 122ms), LookUp and trace the URL or http://216.34.181.60/. I can access all other URLs, except Sourceforge. No idea, where the problem is.

Solved (?)

There must have been a bug in my FF-addons Noscript or Adblock Plus:
I could not access Sourceforge.net directly, but via a proxy (www.fluffmypillow.com). Therefore I knew that it is a problem of my blocker:
Up-to-now I had only switched off Noscript and Adblock for testing the access to sourceforge.net. Today I deactivated and activated both. Now I can access SF.net, even with both switched on. Don´t know where the bug was, but at least its working.
Thank you for your help.
