Description: TrueCombat: Elite (TC:E or TC:Elite) is a total-conversion modification by Team Terminator and Groove Six Studios for the freeware first person shooter game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, started in the late 2004. The modification is in the tactical realism genre and supports Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. It is an offspring to a Quake 3 modification called TrueCombat, which holds some similarity in the game mechanics.

The size is way too big to be an app here. The best candidate for an open source 3d shooter is Assualt Cube Portable.
It is too big...why? Not everyone puts their PortableApps on a small storage USB Device. I use mine on an external hard drive. Is it too big because SourceForge will not host apps of that size?

i was saying in my option it's way to big. sourceforge hosts things that big. i said that because it seems like this site is mostly geared towards flash drives and all of the other apps here are fairly small. it's a good game thought and who knows, mby LOGAN or someone will make it.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. Yea, all of the other apps are fairly small but I think maybe PortableApps needs to start making some larger apps. After all, USB Flash Drives have a limited life span and portable hard drives last a lot longer and are getting to be in the lower price range.

USB hard drives are a lot less "portable" than flash drives. Personally I have three USB Hard drives (between 80GB and 250GB), and about 5 flash drives (between 256MB and and 8GB).
One of the flash drives (Sandisk 8Gb Cruzer micro with the U3 removed) lives in my pocket at all times, except when it is plugged into the machine I'm working at. It contains my digital life (key university project data, email, everything). It is small, neat, tidy, and easy to have everywhere. I can't say the same for the HDDs. They're small, sure, portable, yep, but they're a pain to fit in a pocket.
For a long time to come, the primary focus of this site is going to be flash devices, which are smaller and slower than HDDs. That means that there is going to be comparatively little interest in portablizing large apps such as this one.
Don't forget that the developers here are doing it on an entirely voluntary basis, and, unless they either need a particular app themselves, or are interested in a specific challenge, then there is very little reason for them to spend potentially a lot of time on portablizing something.
That said, I hope that someone who has the time does pick this up for you, since I'm quite sure that some people would love it. But it is a pretty large app - the installer runs to around half a gig, and I've no idea how big that will be once it is extracted.
I poked around on the game site, but couldn't see how big it is.
Regardless of how big it is, it is only a matter of time before flash drives are big enough to hold it and along with everything else you might need.
I have a portable hard drive. And when I say portable, I mean that it is truly portable. It is no more than 1.5" by 1.5" in size and it holds 16GB of data. I purchased it back when I worked at Best Buy and saved a lot of money for using my discount.

They are quite large indeed. Good thing WoW isn't Open Source Freeware
That game occupies 6.18GB of disk space on my hard drive. That's without the expansion, no addons and all patch setup files removed from the directory.
I understand where you are all coming from and now that I look at it, this game is seemingly pointless to run as a portable app. Far too large and the data transfer rate isn't fast enough for it to run smoothly.

I am just trying to help this site by providing what I can. I am not a developer or programmer but I do have a lot of knowledge about computers. If this app cannot be made portable, that is fine by me. I just thought I would throw the idea out there and see.
