Internet Explorer Portable.

Just for laughs I copied my Internet Explorer folder from my programs folder to my portable apps drive. It ran fine on the three machines I tested. Granted those three machines were all either Windows XP or Vista and had the same version of IE installed.

I realize that IE isn't open source but I thought it was worth mentioning for those of us that use Internet Explorer and not Firefox.

IE I could think because of the bookmarks, but the others I mentioned...

It's very likely that these apps 'work almost portable' because every windows has them...

Sorry, but there's no way

Sorry, but there's no way that works correctly in a "portable" sense. The running EXE may have been located on your flash drive, but I assure you all data and settings are being read straight from the registry and the local computer. Any changes you would have made or bookmarks added would have been added to the local computer account.

I doubt there's any way to make IE portable.

True

However it did allow me to carry over my favorites and other settings.

So as long as the IE files are located on the machine it seems to work as a settings/profile. And it was considerably smaller than the Firefox portable install.

In that case,

why not just use K-Meleon Portable in that case??
Edit: I see that Drupal is taking care of the open ended tags. What module is that?

Heh, sorry to say but these

Heh, sorry to say but these posts start to sound like a repeating record. There are several people waisting time on official Microsoft applications. The biggest problems are it's not allowed AND every windows has the applications.

For example, why do people want IE portable, Notepad Portable or Explorer Portable!?

IE I could think because of the bookmarks, but the others I mentioned...
