Is it possible to make Gnome a windows program so it can be like PAM (Portable Apps Menu). Basically a portable desktop that u don't have to reboot your computer. Gnome is a Linux desktop environment.
Some of us have no idea what Gnome is and shouldn't have to go to Yahoo to find out
Could you provide more information about it by editing your original post.
What is it / What does it do?
What kind of license does it have / Is it open source ?
Link to the "gnome" site.
etc, etc,
Thanks,
Tim

that's pretty much impossible. gnome isn't a program, but a desktop environment, and one made specifically for linux. it may be possible to make a windows theme that looks like gnome and have that switch portably. or you can have portable linux on your drive and then you would have gnome.
There's AndLinux. I'm not sure how possible this is for an app, but I might look into it.

No Windows 95/98/ME support, which is currently standard, but will not be a requirement once FF3 is official.
Won't work on FAT or FAT32 drives, because AndLinux requires a >2GB file, and even FAT32 only supports up to 2GB. To run AndLinux, you need an NTFS drive (though you can convert from FAT[32] to NTFS easily with the command-line program convert, e.g. "convert /fs:ntfs X:")
Runs as a service... this may not be neccessary, but you'd need to see.
Do you want to look at AndLinux, or would you like me to try? Could we work together on it?
