Hey All
I am using version 1.0 with Mod30. didn't even realize what the wallpaper swapper did till saw it mentioned in the v1.1 release.
Checked out the old Mod30 thread and found the only difference was in the image file name.
but it does not seem to work!
do I need to have privileges for this to work either for the Mod30 or the PAMv1.1?
If it doesn't work for the Mod 30 but will for the PAMv1.1 I have a second question.
has theme support been added in PAMv1.1? Haven't seen any mention of this but I know a few people said it was in the pipeline, and this, as well as the menu folders, is the reason I use the Mod30.
thanks for any help
theme switching is not a part of PAM yet. You can just copy the themes you want to the folder that houses them and it will use them, it's just not a button on the menu yet.
As for the problems w/ Mod30, you'll have to check with them, as it is a separate design. I think they are up to Mod31 or 32 so maybe they fixed that bit if it wasn't working.

I use mod r31 and the wallpaper swapper works. I can't remember offhand the exact filename or where to put it and I don't have time to dig through that drive right now, but I'll try to remember to do it when I get back.
Ok, you put a .bmp named mywallpaper.bmp into YourDrive:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\Data
Then click Enable Wallpaper Swap in Options.
thr path is right but i think the wallpaper name is wrong, i mean it was:
ThemeNameWallpaper.bmp for example:
Theme name of R30: Neo Crystal
Wallpapername: Neo CrystalWallpaper.bmp
Hell was full, so I came back!!!
Sorry for my lousy English!!!
Hey all ta for the help,
it works for both the above (themeNameWallpaper.bmp and mywallpaper.bmp) but if there is more than one bmp file in the directory the theme named one will take precedence. My mistake was the location, as PAMv1.1 specifies the pictures directory, but Mod R30 uses the data directory.
So V1.1 does support themes? how does it work without a method to select the theme to be used? just one folder and whichever theme is in that folder is the one used?
thanks again for the help
Another thought...
Is it just BMPs that can be used for this? I know originally wallpapers were BMPs for windows, but enter 'wallpaper' into Google and you'll be hard put to find nice one that isn't a JPG these days.
Saving a JPG as a BMP via paint does horrible things to gradients. Horrible.
not just in the desktop. I use them for website backgrounds and in my programs where I can specialize them.
But yeah, I wish windows could take jpg or png. Does mac let you use them?
