Whoot Whoot!

Thank you again. I'll give it a shot.

Oh, I forgot to mention, ZGitRDun8705 made a nicer logo over here. And the author says there's a new program logo coming, too.

I'm sure he won't mind you using it, just credit him in the post.

Works great

I don't see anything left behind in the registry

When I open it it complains

When I open it it complains that it must have Administrator rights, and it doesn't even show the CU startup settings.

Obviously it would need Admin to be able to change HKLM or all-users, but it should be able to handle most of CU without Admin.

well is there really

well is there really anything i can do about that? i mean my portable version does write one empty key to HKLM before it launches the program but other than that i would think that is a problem with the original program

To Note

You should add in bold at the top of the post that it does need admin privileges.

Impressive.

I'm not afraid to test beta software, and already I love this program. I run x64 Windows, and my startup managers hem-haw at me for getting ALL the running programs into a list I can disable if needed. Thank you for this!

Wow Sexy

I had just checked the Startup Manager site early Saturday morning, it was still the same. The new design is awesome, and that was a huge overhaul from the previous version.

Admin rights

Is it possible to implement a prompt to "run application as the following user" like jkDefrag uses?

yeah

yeah, i was thinking about doing that. it was easy to implement in the language JkDefrag was written in; i'll just have to figure out how to do it in NSIS. the next release i do of this will have that included.

That would be great!

It would make it much easier to use this app. By the way, thank you for making so many useful apps for PortableApps.com.

Pretty good and it's open

Pretty good and it's open source, but can it delay startup items?

I use Startup Delayer on my home PC. http://www.r2.com.au/software.php?page=2&show=startdelay

updated to dev test 2 to allow it to be used from a non-admin account if they supply a username and password of an admin account.

Nice

Sounds like a nice feature, I'll test it on a limited account when I get time.

Thanks for the update

Just the feature I was looking for!
One thing that I would change is that the program automatically checks for updates when first run. Perhaps this should be disabled as a default?

StartupManager Automatic Search for Updates

Shouldn't the "Automatically check for updates" box be UNchecked as default so as not to accidentally download a version that may leave junk behind?
