TBird can not download from my pop3 servers.

Thunder bird was working fine yesterday at home, today cam into work and all I get is " an error occurred with the POP3 mailserver. Mailserver responded: " And that is all the info I get on all my accounts. I even changed the Mailserver and no change. Any idea what is going on? I have checked my main Mailserver by longing in over the web but that is working fine so it cant be them. I ran Clamwin on the usb memorystick and I reinstalled Thunderbird on top of the old version. Still no change.

I would be very grateful for your help.

Regards DF

if it´s only at work...

-you´re behind a proxy
-they have blocked the ports
-they use a mailexchange server
should work at home again
to check your mails use thunderbrowse addon or a browser

if no, then it could be
-wrong settings
-password problem
-firewall problem
-corrupt tbp files -> use a fresh install, no copy over

Cheers

Thanks for the tips.

Well since I have not changed any of the settings or passwords etc.

Well I have tried a virgin install yet no change.

I will wait til I get home to see if it works again there.

I can not find thunderbrowse addon on the Mozilla website you would not happen to have the link?

Solved

Guess what, when my relief came in he just rebooted the computer and hey presto Thunderbird was a happy Teddy. Now why did I not think of that?

Glad to know it wasn't Thunderbird's fault.
