Launcher with Hi Res Displays

Hi,

I've been using the default launcher on a low res 1024 screen and it works fine.

However, when I run it on a high res 1900 screen, the background of the launcher doesn't seem to be able to accmodate.

See screenshot here:

Update

You'll wanna update to the 1.1 release of the Suite. In it, this issue is fixed and various other features added. It won't touch your data on upgrading.

Yup

What Patrick said. Just download the 1.1 Platform here:
https://portableapps.com/download

It's a quick 1MB download and install.

Thanks John and Patrick, I

Thanks John and Patrick,

I tried to dl and accidentally installed into a wrong directory (which may be a good thing), because when I tried to run it, it was blank (ie no more icons etc).

I managed to locate my old directory and ran the exe and my old icons were there (thankfully).

Can I ask where the menu icons files are being stored right now? I don't want to inadvertentbly mess up my menu items if I do the upgrade.

Thanks!

Menu Icons?

If you install the suite to the root of the drive, they're in:

X:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\App\DefaultData\IconTheme\

Root

The PortableApps.com Platform is meant to be installed to the root directory of a portable device... so StartPortableApps.exe would be in the root as would your Documents and PortableApps directories. Installing other places gets messy as the installers can't detect where you've installed the Platform.
