I'm a long time Firefox user and I'm thinking of uninstalling Firefox and replacing it with Firefox Portable. The main draw of Firefox Portable is that it requires no installation which is a big plus for me since I've had some issues with Firefox's modification of my registry settings in the past. So, should I go ahead and remove Firefox in favor of Firefox Portable? Or is there some features that Firefox have that the portable version don't? Thanks.

I never installed Firefox on my Windows Vista, I use the Portable version only and the browser itself has all the features you need and can add. You may have issues having external links initiate the browser, but if you keep it open anyway, it will work fine.
Thanks. That's all I need to know. Also, after uninstalling Firefox and running the portable version, I found that it load up faster than the installed Firefox. The speed gap between them gets larger (it's nuanced, but it's there) once you add the extensions. Given my impatience with the time Firefox took to start up, I have to say the newly discovered feature in the portable version is another plus for me.
Remember that you can also have as many Portable Firefoxes on your computer as you want, so you can run a version without all the bells and whistles of themes and extensions that will dump private data at the end of the session....I call that one my "Guest" Firefox.
I created a folder in my C; drive and named it portableapps, just like my flashdrive.
I also have two versions of Firefox, FF2 and FF3 RC2, as well as a bunch of my favorite apps. I haven't encountered any problems outside of the loss of file associations with 7zip, but I still love it. The only negative thing is, be sure to turn off auto updating in the tools>options>advanced>update, or this will turn your
PortableApps install right back into a normal install. That update comes from Mozilla, instead of here. You'll need to update your Portable version from here.
The big plus is--right click delete, no going to the control panel to uninstall, and no junk files left behind. Just go to the FF folder and right click>send to>desktop(create shortcut) if you want desktop icons.
