FF3 RC2 Crashing several times a day

It seems like RC2 has just been one fun discovery after another for me...

In any event, the last few days it has been crashing several times a day - usually when I am selecting a filter or other javascript on a page, but occasionally just when I am on one page and go to my bookmarks to move to another page. Just me being lucky?

My addons (in case that's the problem) are AdBlockPlus, StumbleUpon and FoxyProxy. All of which were updated and supposedly are FF3 compatible.

Appreciate any help. I am submitting the crash reports, but figured I'd check here just in case.

Ewan, I'm not testing FFP3RC2

Ewan,

I'm not testing FFP3RC2 myself but I might be able to ask you some questions that might help someone else to help you.

Is this Mozilla's FF3RC2 or our Portable Version, FFP3RC2, your topic title indicates Mozilla's FF3RC2, not the portable version, please make this clear.

If it is our portable version are you running it from the hard drive or a flash drive?

What operating system and version are you using XP/Vista SP???

Do you have a problem if you go a day with NO addons at all?

That's a start

Tim

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?

Actually this is with both

Actually this is with both the desktop and the portable version of FF3RC2. So I have had the same problem on both hard drive and flash (portable tested on both), and on XP and Vista (portable tested on both). I will try removing all the addons and see if I see the same behavior.

Thanks,
Ewan

Just spent the whole day

Just spent the whole day using NO addons, and only had two crashes instead of multiple crashes. Of course that's still more crashes in one day than I usually had using Portable FF2 in a week.

Can only hope that all the crash reports I'm sending to the FF team will result in whatever's broken being fixed. It does seem related to either new tabs/new windows and/or javascripts on forums.

Profile

Did you start with a fresh profile without the cruft left behind by the addons? What about plugins? Microsoft Silverlight is known to be buggy and cause crashes, for instance.

I use FF3 as my main browser since RC1 and have had zero crashes.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
