AbiWord: Setting langauge ... how? What? Where?

I see this site claims "By default, AbiWord Portable is set to English (US)." - but isn't what I see - I just downloaded it for the first time (from here) and started it and the language is not English (its the machine default)

Then the text goes on:
"To change to another langauge, start AbiWord Portable as normal. From the main menu, select Tools and then Preferences."

Ok... but then

"Then click the Language tab."

Except there is NO Language tab....

Any suggestions on how to get it to start and stay English?

It Moved

In the new version of AbiWord it's on the General tab (1st tab). Just change it there. And it's now machine default by default.

You could have installed it without the additional languages and it would be English, too.

That's only for the interface

That's only for the interface not the spell checker... but perhaps the program can't do that.

Right-Click

Right-click in an existing document and you can change the spellcheck language. You can also set it as the default for the document. New documents should be set to the language you've set for AbiWord.

That might have been vaguely funny if I'd written that.
