How do all these adaptive features of AwesomeBar work on Firefox Portable, the browser that does not save history of previously visited sites? Is it capable of learning, as advertised by the developers, or we're SOL?

How do all these adaptive features of AwesomeBar work on Firefox Portable, the browser that does not save history of previously visited sites? Is it capable of learning, as advertised by the developers, or we're SOL?
History is enabled on Firefox Portable 3 as it was in Firefox Portable 2. We haven't disabled history by default in quite some time.

I had the "Save history" checkbox unmarked.
Don't remember ever messing with the history settings, I probably had it this way since 2005, when I stumbled into Portable Firefox for the first time. Now, once I checked it, the AwesomeBar started picking up the previously typed addresses.
