For anyone wondering why Songbird Portable isn't out yet, I thought I'd give you an update. The majority of the code is complete for it, however we are still sorting out code to change drive letters in the SQLite database.

Hmm, extra relieved at this note. Songbird is an app I have been eagerly waiting for (Zune & iPod).
Now, on a sidenote, does "We" in your note mean the Songbird team?
I was just thinking. Most of my apps that I worked on with the author of the app turned out not so good.

Hello,
I'm an trainee in an italian company and I'm working on a portable songbird too.
I had a lot of problems trying to set the "application data" directory, searching deeply into Songbird sources I found that the directory is set in this file, I'm wondering if I should rebuild entire songbird to make the portable version work.
I'm working on a Mac version of this portable software (but I need it for Windows platform too) and I'm asking if I could help you on this, if you want you could send me the sources you're working on, I'll be glad to be a betatester/co-developer.

I succesfully put sb on usb-key for windows, using the "-profile" option and creating the file "user.js" (in which I put the relative path to the library db). It seems to work on any windows pc. I think I'll look for Ryan on the sb irc channel.

Ryan, just letting you know, Songbird 0.6 is now out. i'm sure you're busy with your school stuff but i thought i'd mention it in case you were still working on 0.5
I was that just about the same time last night. Good to see the iPod addon rewriten, my friend was having some issues with it.
Not a rush just a note to say I'm looking forward to this being portable and thanks for doing it :o)

Sorry I'm a bit late, but here's where I'm at:
I've finished the launcher and it works. I need to upgrade to Songbird 0.6, which involves a few changes. I also need to do the AppInfo and help.html, but then I'll be ready for a public prerelease.
