Configuring the default profile location for thunderbird

I understand that the portable thunderbird app now includes it's own default profile folder where i can simply slip in my current stuffs, but what i wanted to do was maintain the location of my default profile (outside of the protable thunderbird folders).. i wwas looking for the *.ini file to change the location of the default profile folder but i cant seem to locate it.

not a major issue really but would like to know how to do so.

Look for the ini in

Look for the ini in \PortableThunderbird\Other\PortableThunderbirdSource\

This is where the ini hides! Wink Move it to \PortableThunderbird\ and edit it to point to your profile. Look for this line:

UserProfileDirectory=

The default setting is: UserProfileDirectory=Data\userprofile

Remember to use RELATIVE paths. Hope this helps!

...

UserProfilePath merely redirects the location of the Application Data, etc. folders (not recommended because it can adversely affect the machine you're running it on). The Thunderbird profile is changed by modifying the ProfilePath setting.

Thank You Bruce. I haven't

Thank You Bruce. I haven't messed around with it myself and I'm glad you corrected me. I've just glanced at the ini and readme included, and even that was a cursory scan. I was in a hurry.
