Why not VirtualDub MPEG2 over VirtualDub

I'm in not sure exactly what's with all these different builds of Virtual Dub and the authors reluctance to adds those features from the spin offs to the main original, but one that is really useful to me is VirtualDub MPEG2, as it supports more formats, specifically ASF, WMV, and MPEG2 obviously (screw Microsoft's B.S. patents by the way), So I am wondering if the authors of the Portable Apps version, wouldn't be likely to replace VDMPG2 (I gonna call it that from now on) over VD, I understand VDMPG2 hasn't been up dated in a while, but it's more useful, as I can process videos from my digital camera.

Anyone have any luck on replacing VDMPG2 over VD in VD Portable? Would it still work as a portable app?

Thanks

thanks for the tip.

thanks for the tip.

I discovered MPEG2, WMV, and AC3 plugins by fccHandler (also the author of VDMPEG2), I placed them in App\VirtualDub\Plugins32 folder and all is well. vd can handle ASF, WMV, MPEG2 files now.
