Note to Developers and Developer Wanna Be's

When Posting a New "Dev Test", "alpha, beta, gamma" or what ever you want to call it,
i.e. a new app for the first time, not Dev1 to Dev2 etc.

Please include All the following information:

What is the state of things so far?

What testing have YOU already done?
Is the app currently working [for you]?
Are Files/folders left behind?, If so, where? How did you check?
Are Registry Settings left behind? If so, where? How did you check?
Did you test as Admin/Limited user?
OS's you tested on ...
If your Launcher is based on an existing one, which one?

Known problems you want tested for?

I think it would be a good idea for ALL new tests if we had this information to start with.

Too often it seems like someone just throws something together and expects us to find the things they at least should have checked first.

I gave up on dev tests, betas, or whatever you want to call them when it became apparent that some new folks were going,

Whoo, this is easy, I can do this.
Hey, here's my Dev Test, tell me what you think?

This, one week after asking the question:
So, How do you make apps portable ???

And it became obvious that they had No Idea of what the Hell they were doing.

If it were easy, we wouldn't need John, would we?

Test Your app as Throughly as You can Before posting it.
If You Won't, Why should We?

If you have an idea and you're honest enough to admit that you don't know what your doing, great, we can respect that. But at least we know what to ask you to do or try Before you post the actual test.

If you can't answer the questions above, you should Not be posting the app.
Mind you, I'm not saying you should have a positive solution/answer, but you should address those questions at a minimum, even if the answer is "I don't know!"

If there are more "obvious" questions that should be added to the list, let me know

Respectfully submitted

And before anybody tries to rip my face off [I might not let you]
Ask yourself these questions?:
Is Tim really asking for anything unreasonable?
and have you never wanted to say to [insert name]:
Did you test this piece of crap out at all ???,
even my mother [or Tim Blum ] would know you need to ...[insert obvious test]

Makes sense.

All the more reason to make a development How-To.
