U3 FireFox

I have been following U3 for a while, and noticed 2 Firefox Items on the u3 download page. 1 by you, and one by yourbrainz.com.

The one by you says coming soon...
Is This True? Are you developing your version for U3?

The one Yourbrainz put out is not as friendly as yours because they made all sorts of changes to support Annon Browsing, as well as no mater what your Home Page is they will always be the First Tab (no way to disable it)Its really annoying with session saver.

Back to the topic
I Hope you are making a U3 version, If not I will still continue to use the Current version of PFF. But U3 would be nice

Hi well there are to

Hi well there are to versions at the moment:

Fx 1.5 and Fx 1.0.7. Fx 1.0.7 is "Comming soon". I think thats not up to date. Look at author: x.7 John Haller, 1.5 YourBrainz.

Perhaps they aren't allowed to publish John's version or wanted John to make some changes and Fx 1.5 was released before.

I don't think, that many people will downgrade! So perhaps 1.0.7 is just obsolete now. But i don't know.

My 1.5 version of FF for U3

I'm completing a version called Mozilla Firefox for U3 1.5 which is based on Portable Firefox 1.5. The coming soon message just hasn't been updated. You will see it on U3's Software Central soon.

U3 Version ETA?

I'm currently using the "YourBrainz" version of Firefox for U3, and it has major problems. Despite that, it's very easy to use regularly, as it's available on the "Launchpad." If I had to dig in the drive for it, I probably wouldn't bother most of the time.

Which brings me to the question of the day: do you have any idea when we will see your version of Firefox for U3? I'm very much looking forward to it!

Thanks for the good work!

As I mentioned

Contractually, I can not give an ETA as the official release is not under my control.

Where was that mentioned?

Sorry, I didn't mean to ask you a question that you'd already answered, but to be fair, I've searched high and low, and I can find NO mention of contractual obligations regarding the U3 version of Portable Firefox.

At any rate, I'm very excited to see it when it DOES get released.

Sorry

Come to think of it, I think I may have mentioned that in an email and not in-forum.

It'll be soon.

You can

probably replace the contents of the firefox directory on the U3 device. That would be here:
X:\System\Apps\3C9F7B3F-D55C-42cd-8537-B878518B73AF\Exec\firefox

Replace it with your local copy of FF. This COULD break it, though, but you'd still be able to uninstall and reinstall if it did. Let me know if that works.

All: Please address all future support questions to the U3 forum.
