  • I am probably not going to update this one, a lot of licensing issues...

BSD

license.
The issues are that I don't get it, and that this baby won't work on those Win2K PC's in LA.

The BSD license is GPL

The BSD license is GPL compatible. (At least newer versions are. The one on the site seems to be a newer one.)

oh ok. I think just saying

oh ok. I think just saying it won't work on Win2K makes more sense. The way it's currently written, it looks like it says it doesnt work on Win2K machines in Los Angeles lol.

Not Portable

I found all the settings stored in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Alexander Avdonin\TaskSwitchXP) but none in Data\settings, so I don't think it's portable at all.

Could be...

that the Registry Logic is bad.
I probably will remove this project as I believe it doesn't deserve to be portable since it's not really even counter-productive.
@John: I just realized that some portable apps leave behind an entry about the tray icons. Does anyone know where these are stored? (taskbar properties => Customize next to hide inactive icons)

Yes, here

Yes, here -

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify, value = IconStreams

The problem is, to clear this, you have to delete the value data, then forcibly kill explorer.exe via Task Manager, and restart it. This data is stored in explorer's memory, so if you simply restart, the value data is rewritten from memory. Killing explorer is the only way to clear it. MS actually says so in their knowledge base if you can believe it.
