Become a Fan

You have to be logged into Facebook and become a fan to see all fans, I think.

Use a disposable email address

Use a disposable email address to register with. That way you can control your amount of junk email that comes from there.

Not Bad

I haven't had any issues with Facebook. Share only what you want. You can unselect all email notifications if you'd like. It helps to use a real address so friends and colleagues can find you. You can set it so only they can see it. Or only people who know your email or last name can find you. I use mine, but mine are all public anyway.

Facebook is interesting and has helped me get back in touch with some lost friends. The 'apps' on Facebook are mostly time wasters and you can block the more annoying ones from ever being able to ping you (Werewolves attacking thing, Funwall spam, etc).

Can't edit

If someone has replied to your comment, you can't edit it any more. The edit link vanishes, and you get fed a 403 forbidden.

I don't really like it, but you can understand why.

Well...

Illegal is debatable. It's against their terms (AFAIK), but not really illegal. Smile

fan or the group?

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2521651754&ref=ts

I joined that group a while ago. Though your new one seems more uptodate.

Fan seems to be getting more popular than making actual groups, though they both have different abilities.

Oh hey, now we know what each other really look like. Smile

And I've never had any problem with spams from facebook. You can set things up pretty easily to not send you any email notifications, and keep it all on facebook so you only get facebook interactions when you are actually logged in and looking for it.

Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.
