defaults. And it istill there since I upgraded the application!
Hey I had this same problem upgrading from RC1-RC2. What I
did was uninstall it and then delete anything on the registries that involved
firefox, but this was on a pc not a portable device. So my suggestion would be
to backup your bookmarks and passwords, then delete all the firefox stuff off
your portable device and just reload the new one onto it. The problem shouldn't persist.
Hi,
i think it's a general Fx 1.5 problem! Please have a look at Fx Support forum:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=351046&highlight=gray+grey...
I only saw a grey box at one time. I just pressed F11. "Linky" - hmm, iam using Linkification. I don't know, if there is an extension just called "linky".
But it seems pFx is working very well. But Fx 1.5 is unfortunaly a little bit buggy

A common cause seemed to be disabling XUL cache, with Portable Firefox 1.0 did to save about 1MB of space. That was one of the reasons for the delay. I built in the ability for the launcher to set XUL cache back on to hopefully alleviate some of these problems.

Well, this happen to as well. On top of it there is a line displayed saying: <key id="key_openhelp"What does this mean and how could this happen? I am using it on a USB thumbdrive on my regular pc.regards,Bleckie
I had this problem after upgrading Firefox from 1.0.7 to 1.5 on my Linux box, so I doubt it's a specific Portable Fx problem. I think it disappeared when I did the following:
0) stop Fx
1) back up profile directory (!!!)
2) delete profile directory
3) start Fx so it creates a default profile
(this was when the grey area disappeared)
4) copy old profile over new profile
5) restart Fx
For some reason, the grey area did not reappear, although all my previous profile settings were useable again.
Remember: back your personal profile somewhere safe!
Cheers,
T.
