PortableApps.com Platform closes when clicking on a menu folder

I Downloaded the PortableApps.com Platform and installed it on an external USB drive, 300 GB FAT32 in a folder called PORTABLE.
The program starts and puts its window in the lower right corner of the screen but when I click on a folder in the menu, the folder opens and the PortableApps.com Platform shuts down. I suppose this is not how it should be. Any suggestions? I run Win XP home. I downloaded the PortableApps.com Platform only, because it is multilingual.

Heya Occupied!

Hey Occupied, and welcome to PortableApps.com!

Adding:

RemainVisible=True

To your PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\Data\PortableAppsMenu.ini, it should always remain visible after clicking an item in the menu. I believe that's the location of the ini file, but I'm not positive.

Tray icon

Are you sure it shuts down? There should be a little white-grey tray icon that you can click to reopen the menu when needed ...

Welcome to PortableApps.com! Smile

Oh...

Yeah, that too. Smile I'm sure he did just miss the icon. But hopefully my solution will help.

Support page

Occupied is not the first one with this problem. A lot of users are not used to that behaviour of a program.

Maybe the PortableApps Suite Support page should inform the users about the tray icon and how to use it Smile

Or there could be a balloon tip when minimizing the menu for the first time ...

Colored like clay, remains in the tray. What is that?

I found it! I found the icon!
Many thanks for your help and your welcoming, all of you.
