Still lookin for the perfect free file manager

Freecommander, TotalCommander, A43....

I'm still looking for the above requirements (simple I think)
- perfectly usb portable
- double pane view
- simple compare/syncronization/backup tool
- THE MORE IMPORTANT : 100% handling of zip and even better 7-zip archives
--> you can navigate as in uncompressed folders
--> create new files directly from the filemanage and within the compressed folder
--> directly modify a file and get the automatic update as you close it
--> perfect handling of passwords for specific compressed folders
--> use copy/move/delete as usual

If you know this one, please let me know.

Try File Navigator v1.71

The good news: File Navigator 1.71 from http://www.relaxander.webest.net/index.php?id=1 does most of what you want and it is perfectly USB flash drive portable if you tell it to keep its settings in the program folder. Select the option Commands / Configuration / Compatibility / Store configuration in the INI-file.

The trickier news: The program itself is entirely in English, but the website is in Russian! But seriously, don't let this put you off - try it out for yourself.

Great app!

Gave File Navigator a try, and loved it! As a long time Norton Commander and Midnight Commander fan, this was an app in my taste.

For an english translation of the File Navigator web page, try this link.

Try A43

Pretty slick little app. Current version 2.47. Only downfall is that it only works on Win2K and XP.
