how can i rename the name of a product i downloaded? There are a few programs that have names too long for the window. I have tried to rename the file by clicking on its title, but the change is not reflected.

First, download and install Resource Hacker Portable.
Then, open it up and select the portable application you want to change the name of (Just choose APPNAMEPortable.exe in the root of the APPNAMEPortable folder which is under PortableApps on the root of your drive), and select "version info" in the left pane. Choose 1, then 0, and modify the following things in the code: "FileDescription", "InternalName", and "ProductName" to what you want the new name to be. Then click "Compile Script" in the upper portion of the window. Then choose File -> Save As, and then save it as "THENEWNAMEPortable.exe". Delete the old .exe, then choose Options -> Refresh App Icons in the PAM Menu. Voila! It should have changed. Note: make a backup of the old one in case the new one gets corrupted.
