When I plugged in my flash and attempted to open the browser, nothing happens. The logo would just load, but the actual browser enver opens. The program tried updating itself earlier, but I had to eject the drive before it finished. I don't know if that had any effect on it or not.
I tried ejecting the drive, and starting up my firefox portable again, but no avail. Rebooting the computer didn't help either. Can anyone please help?
1. Make a backup copy of the FirefoxPortable\Data folder
2. Delete all of FirefoxPortable
3. Reinstall Firefox Portable 2.0.0.15
4. Ignore the Mozilla auto updater.
5. Use 2.0.0.15 until PortableApps.com released 2.0.0.16
Explanation of 4 and 5: The auto-update feature in the firefox 2.* series breaks portability. When the auto-update runs, it downloads a standard firefox installer, and will redirect all registry entries related to a local install of firefox to point to the portable version. if no local install exists, the firefox registry keys will be created. This is a known issue, we've been working with Mozilla to get it resolved, but so far in the 2.* series it has not been. There's a very slim chance 2.0.0.16 did change the issue, we're hoping that at the very least, when 3.0.0.1 is released, that update will fix it.
