This in theory is a good idea, a portable back up utility, tell it source and destination folders, and it backs up your data.
Wel I tried this just now with just 3.70 mb of files. It launched, I got a progress indicator up, then.... well a LOT of hard drive activity, task manager said the process was still running, 10 mins later I got bored, killed with task manager.
Has anyone else tried this program?
I know flash drives don't exactly set the world on fire with read/write speeds but still... 3.70 mbs isn't a lot of files.
It worked for me, although a tad slow. MiniUp is now unsupported. Try the Liberta Backup, which is the new project from MiniUp. There should be a new version along shortly, if I recall one of Steves posts. All of the Liberta Apps look promising.

around & I see the liberta stuff now, I'm surprised I missed it earlier, there is certainly a lot more of the Portable apps stuff around the net than is first apparant.
Yeah new version shortly. Check out www.liberta-project.com for more project info.

I've used mini up for a while without any trouble, it is slow but you must be very calm and await the final completion I guess depend on the RAM of the comp you are using (actually with 128Mb it takes about an hour, with 256Mb the elapsed time is somewhere around 45mins). Now with liberta backup you are faster (for an hard disk of 20Gb is around 6/8 hrs, the disk is full of my photo portfolios.
