Multiple Firefox Portable instances

I've been using Firefox Portable not only on my pendrive but also on my PC, so that I don't have to remember to backup it when I'm reinstalling Windows. However there is one major issue with that solution. I set up Firefox Portable as my default browser but if I have it running at the moment other apps cannot open any links because I'm getting "Firefox is already running but is not responding." error. This of course is not the case with standard Firefox installation. Is there a way to get rid of this problem?

Took a bit of sniffing around, but I figured out the answer.

Go to your FirefoxPortable directory. There should be 3 folders. Go to the "Other" one. In there, go to "Source." There should be a file called "FirefoxPortable.ini"; copy it into the FirefoxPortable directory (the one with the 3 folders in it). After copying it, open up the copied version and find "AllowMultipleInstances=false". Change the "false" part to "true." Save it, then do the same for your other FirefoxPortable directory.

That's it!

Unfortunately that's not the answer. The option you've described allows you to run few Firefox instances but each of those must be run from different place. I want to run the same program but for a few times.

Multiple Instances

Actually, seams like you have to turn "Multiple Instances" to off, so you can open links form other apps. At least I remember of reading so.

Alive and kicking!
